Terms & conditions

The agreement, in plain language

By pressing Start chatting you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Last updated 15 October 2026

1. Who can use randomchat.social

You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live. By using the service you confirm that you are.

2. What the service is

randomchat.social connects two people who are online at the same time for a private conversation, by text or by video with text alongside, each under a randomly generated display name. No account is needed and there are no profiles. You may choose to save your display name to a Google account. Before your first chat you are asked for your gender and country, which are used for matching; please answer truthfully. We may change, limit or stop the service at any time.

3. Your conduct

You agree to follow the community guidelines. In particular you will not harass or threaten anyone, send unwanted sexual content, involve minors, spam, scam, share other people's personal information, or use the service for anything illegal.

You will not disrupt the service: no automated clients or bots, no attempts to flood, overload, probe or bypass its limits, and no attempts to read conversations you are not part of.

4. Your messages and video

You are responsible for what you send and show. Video and audio travel directly between the two browsers and are not recorded by us; the other person can still record or capture what they see. Messages pass through our servers to reach the other person and are not stored, except as described in the privacy policy: when a chat is reported, its recent messages are kept for review for up to 30 days. You give us permission to transmit your messages and to process them for that purpose.

Photos and video clips you send are delivered through our servers and deleted shortly after the chat ends. Only send pictures you have the right to share. Sexual images, images of minors and images of other people shared without their consent are forbidden and lead to a ban.

Direct messages between friends are stored on our servers so they can be delivered later, as the privacy policy describes. The same rules of conduct apply to them as to any chat.

5. Other people

We do not screen the people you are matched with and cannot verify who anyone is, their gender or how old they are. The gender and country filters rely on what each person says about themselves. Conversations are not moderated in real time. You talk to strangers at your own risk: use the Next, Block and Report controls, and do not share personal details.

6. Enforcement

We may end conversations, restrict access or block addresses, temporarily or permanently, when we believe these terms or the guidelines have been broken, or to protect the service and its users. Blocks can be applied automatically, for example after repeated reports.

7. Paid plans

Some features need a paid plan, which is tied to a saved account. A plan is paid once, in cryptocurrency, for a month or a year, and does not renew by itself; paying again adds more time. A paid plan changes what you can do, such as choosing who you meet; it does not guarantee that a match will be found or how quickly. If we block an account for breaking these terms or the guidelines, its plan ends without a refund, except where the law requires one. The terms of a purchase are in the terms of sale, and when a payment is refunded is set out in the refund policy.

8. No warranty

The service is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure against every threat, or that you will always find someone to talk to.

9. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other users say or do. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version, and continuing to use the service means you accept it.
