Be someone worth meeting

Every chat here is between two real people who know nothing about each other. These rules keep that worth doing.

Last updated 15 October 2026

The rules

  • Adults only. You must be 18 or older. If someone tells you they are younger, end the chat and report it.
  • No harassment. No threats, bullying, slurs or hateful language about who someone is.
  • No unwanted sexual content. Do not open with it, do not push it, and never involve minors in any way.
  • No spam or scams. No advertising, link dropping, requests for money, or automated accounts.
  • No doxxing. Do not try to uncover, share or threaten to share anyone's identity or personal details.
  • Nothing illegal. Do not use the service to plan, promote or carry out illegal activity.
  • No dodging bans. If you have been blocked from the service, do not try to get around it.

Staying safe

  • Keep your full name, address, workplace, school, phone number and passwords to yourself.
  • Be careful with links from strangers, and with invitations to move to another app.
  • Never send money, gift cards, codes or intimate images to someone you met here.
  • People are not always who they say they are. You owe nobody a reply: press Next whenever you like.

Automatic protection

Some of the rules above are also enforced automatically, before anyone has to report anything.

  • Messages that are never delivered. Slurs, threats (including telling someone to kill themselves) and any sexual content involving children are refused before the other person sees them. The same check applies to edits and to messages between friends.
  • Swearing is hidden, not banned. Offensive and explicit words from others are covered until you tap them. You can switch this off under "You". Links and phone numbers from strangers are hidden too, since that is how most scams start.
  • Video is checked for nudity on your device. Each new video starts blurred for a moment while your browser checks it, and blurs again if nudity shows up. Photos and clips sent to you are checked when you open them. Nothing is uploaded for this. You can also choose to have every video stay blurred until you tap it.
  • Spoken words are not checked. Mute the other person with the speaker button, press Next, or report them.

No automatic check is perfect: it will sometimes miss something and sometimes cover something harmless. Reporting is still the way to tell us about anything it misses.

Report and block

Open the menu at the top of any chat to report or block the person you are talking to. You can also report a chat just after it has ended.

  • Blocking ends the chat and stops you from being matched with that person again during your session.
  • Reporting does the same, and sends the last 30 messages of the chat to a moderator.
  • The other person is never told that you blocked or reported them.

What happens when rules are broken

Reports are reviewed, and addresses that are reported by several different people can be blocked from the service automatically. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the relevant authorities.

  • Each refused message is a strike. Three strikes within half an hour mean a ban.
  • Sexual content involving children means a ban straight away.
  • Nudity on camera that several different people's browsers detect means a ban.
  • A first ban lasts 15 minutes. Each further ban within a week lasts longer: an hour, then a day, then a week.
